If you live off grid like us, it truly makes life so much easier.

We have had this portable shower for a little over a month now. We are building a shipping container house but in the meantime we are living in a camper on the property as we build. Sadly the camper we bought doesn’t have a working water heater or even any working gas lines. So I came up with the idea to make a rocket stove out of a 5 gallon bucket, put in coiled copper pipe with both ends sticking out the side of the bucket and put 4inch pvc pipe in the middle and connected a second piece of pvc pipe to that on the other side and poured concrete around it all. We then got 2 more straight pieces of copper pipe, attached them to both ends of the copper pipe in the bucket and heated the other ends and poked them both into a 25 gallon plastic barrel. We then gather a bunch of twigs and break them up and put them in the middle of the rocket stove and light it on fire. To heat up 25 gallons for all 4 of us takes about 2 hours or less depending on how hot you keep the fire. That creates a vortex in the copper pipe and it automatically sucks the cold water from the bottom of the barrel through the copper pipe, heats the water up as it goes around the coiled pipe in the fire and spits out the hot water back to the top of the barrel. We did cut a square on the side of the barrel to be able to put our arm in and be able to stir the water with a big spoon so the kids don’t get any hot spots that burns them. We then drop the kedsum portable shower in the opening where you unscrew one of the lids in the top of the barrel and hang the shower head and removable piece for the hook and suction cup on a screw on a 2x4 we stood up in a hole in the ground. We put rope around 4 trees and then used about 6 white shower curtains on the ropes to enclose the area and then screwed the shower curtain corners to tree limbs we put around the bottom so they don’t blow open. We left an opening to go in and out of, and it’s big enough to keep a plastic folding chair, to sit on in the corner to undress and dress. We added a couple of hanging shower organizers for all our soaps and razors and a folding beach sand rubber mat as the shower rug to stand on and run the water into our garden and yard area to water everything. It works great and we use it every other day. I also use it to put in another barrel to fill up our washer until we get our well done. If I take the shower head off and just use the hose part and battery it takes about 9 minutes and 45 seconds to fill up the washer. If you live off the grid and use those huge water containers that holds about 200 gallons of water or even the barrels that holds 25 gallons of water it makes life so much easier. My husband actually wants to keep the outdoor shower I created once our house is done and move it to off our master bathroom so we can still take showers outdoors together if we want. I also hung a couple of solar power little lanterns I got from Joanns craft store so we have light in the shower but not enough that if anyone happens to wonder by our property in the middle of the woods they can’t even see a shadow let alone anything else in the shower.

Works as described and in emergencies.

I am so tired of “Love it!” reviews. Here is the review that I wish I had before I ordered this product.

This product is worth buying and works as described. The photo shows how many water holes are in the shower head compared to other camp showers. The shower comes with a hook for the shower head, but the hose is too short for my 5’7” height because the pump part must stay in the water bucket if the bucket is on the ground. I like this product and would recommend it to friends and family. That’s the short story. Keep reading for a detailed review.

For those who value detailed honest product reviews, here’s my story:

I ordered this portable shower product a year ago and practiced using it for car camping. Yesterday, I fell at home and broke my ankle bones on both sides of the ankle. Yeah, bummer right? So my downstairs does not have a shower or tub and I really wanted a shower because the ankle dressing is not supposed to get wet. I used a big clean plastic trahbag to protect the dressing and proceeded to shower with the LUOOV Portable Outdoor shower. This review is based on my experience with the portable shower in a real world environment. I had stand by assistance from a family member. I threw on the floor a couple of towels and the standby person put a commode chair on top. I put the uninsured foot into a large plastic basin. I had additional dry towels purchased on Amazon nearby. I used a few drops of concentrated Dr. Bonner peppermint soap which can be ordered on Amazon in several scents and unscented. The bathroom sink was filled with water and a tiny bit of Dr. Bonner liquid soap. Making some water mess, I proceeded to shower. Very few drops of water went outside the towel barrier.

This is what I liked:
1) The hose was long enough to reach wherever I needed it to go. I am approximately 5’7” and had to bend for the water to reach my hair. The hose has water in it even when out of the water. Having the water basin and faucet at waist height was great and I recommend raising the basin for any use if you are tall so the hose can wash your hair.

2) The charge is through USB which makes it easy charge with a laptop, or other USB outdoor device. The device was not charged for a year and the shower was still strong.

3) The water flow can be stopped by folding the hose to kink it. As long as the pump at the bottom is in water, the water will flow. It took two hands to fold the hose. The hose is strong and thick.

4) The on off switch is on the pump opposite side of the USB plus and is simple to operate. There is a strong plastic cap on the switch. The cap must be pulled off to see the push button switch.

5) A gallon of water can provide a full shower. I used two gallons for a shower and to wash my hair. If I was more efficient, I could have used less water.

6) This shower with lots of shower holes can be used as a shower system for people and pets. It is a more efficient use of water. Start with very warm but not scalding water because the water cools as it leaves the hose. Be sure to check the water temperature before allowing children and the aged to use the shower. Use common sense.

7) For camping - this portable shower system is a yes. A black bag can cover the water to heat it with solar or water from a campfire can be used. Please use caution with hot water. For backpacking, it may add too much weight - but if the big shower feeling gets the family outdoors, the weight is worth the end result of happy campers.

8) Power outages, natural disasters, emergency medical, natural disasters, building and construction sites may find the shower device helpful.

9) I’m unsure how long it takes the device to charge, but can say that my device maintained a strong charge for almost a year in storage.

10) If showering while standing in a basin and using a biodegradable biologically neutral soap, soapseed, the water can be poured out in specific area without harming nature. These soaps are sold on Amazon. I do not know if they will harm the device. I used Dr. Bonner. Oils are slippery. I did not use oils in the water and recommend not using oils in the water. Use oils, lotions and creams after the shower and wear socks untucks lotions and oils are absorbed into the feet. Don’t fall.

Excellent!

I bought this for use with washing our dogs. My husband was very sceptical, thinking it couldn't possibly be any good at such a low price. He has now admitted he was wrong! We bought the collapsible bucket at the same time and together they make it so easy to wash the dogs after a muddy walk. You fill the bucket with warm water, put the motor end of the hose in it and switch it on. It produces a nice, soft stream of water, but a strong enough stream to clean the dogs.
We even used it ourselves in the bathroom once, when our shower broke and it was fine. We placed it in the basin next to the bath and turned on the taps to produce a steady trickle of warm water and hooked the spray end over the shower fitting.

Life-saver!

This little shower head has worked perfectly for me. Was actually charged out of the box, so I could use it immediately. My only shower was not working, so I stopped up the bathroom sink, filled it a little and let the faucet run continuously. Once I dropped in the pump, it easily brought a steady stream into my shower. Just hung the shower head over my non-working one and I was good to go. Not as strong as a regular shower, but after sponge baths for 3 days it was wonderful! My four member family used it for two weeks until our shower was fixed. We charged it every 3 - 4 showers, and never wore it out. It is now my emergency/camp shower. Absolutely a great purchase I could not find in a store, and the quick Amazon prime delivery was greatly appreciated. Already paid for itself in convenience (and cleanliness)!
